Vow of Celibacy - Lifelong celibacy

In today's discussion on celibacy we are covering following chapters of celibacy: vow of celibacy, lifelong celibacy, yoga celibacy and involuntary celibacy!

Vow of Celibacy

A vow of celibacy is necessitated for traveler of spiritual path... never otherwise! Those who do not pursue a spiritual goal of life need not take a vow of celibacy! The practice of celibacy demands highest level of perfection that can ever be achieved by human beings! Controlling sensuality is very difficult to practice yet, not impossible!

One must never indulge in a vow of celibacy just as rhetoric... for the sake of it! For traveling spiritual path... a vow of celibacy is necessitated for a continuous period of 12 years! Not a single lapse in the entire cycle of 12 years is permitted. A single lapse in vow of celibacy... we need repeating the whole process of 12 years again!

For full awakening of kundalini energy... for activating kundalini shakti in totality... a practice of absolute celibacy for a period of 12 years in continuation is an absolute must! It is only by full awakening of kundalini shakti human beings finally reached stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)!

Every single man god like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed and (in the last about 150 years) Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... all took a vow of celibacy in the earlier stages of life! By transmuting stored sexual energy and redirecting it towards the only goal of life is what absolute celibacy is all about!

Controlling sensuality in a world full of beautiful ladies is very difficult to practice yet, not impossible! For an ardent practitioner of spirituality nothing is impossible! In the earlier stages of life I wanted to see and meet God. By hit and trial method I realized that sexual energy is the most potent of all energies available to mankind!

By harnessing this intangible energy... human beings could reach rather cross any barrier of mundane life finally reaching domain of God Almighty in ones lifetime! The essence of life is... whatever we desire to do we have to accomplish it in present lifespan of 70 to 80 years! As we do not know what we shall be in next manifestation... we have to make all our attempts now... In present life!

We just cannot leave things to chance! In the domain of God there never are free lunches. All is governed by inscrutable laws of karma... as we sow so shall we reap nothing less or more! It is our karma alone that decides our journey of life. Destiny is not manifested by grace of God Almighty. Human beings manifested destiny by practicing absolute celibacy in real life!

Sage Vishwamitra... a highly accomplished saint of his era on sighting a maiden woman taking bath in forlorn circumstances in deep dense jungles (forests) fell from grace... he had to repeat the practice of celibacy all over again! Sage Vishwamitra was a contemporary of Sage Vashistha. He always thought that he was way ahead of Sage Vashistha.

Mysterious are ways of God Almighty! It was God Almighty who created all the drama resulting in Sage Vishwamitra losing his face in society! Sage Vishwamitra had a lot of anger that he found unable to contain. To teach him a lesson... to restrain Sage Vishwamitra from baring his anger in public... the lesson of celibacy was called for!

Married people who indulged in a vow of celibacy have to contain sexual indulgences to a maximum of two per month (one is desirable)! On the path of pure celibacy... one or two indulgences per month are permitted... never more! I again repeat... a single lapse... and everything needs to be repeated again!

Such a strict regimen on path of pure celibacy is necessitated as God Almighty does not desire every Jack and Jill reaching stage of enlightenment! Enlightenment is not that easily gained. In the last about 150 years' world over only two persons succeeded in reaching stage of enlightenment... Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana!

Lifelong Celibacy

Lifelong celibacy is necessitated to be practiced by travelers of spiritual path alone! Those living a mundane life... need not practice lifelong celibacy at all! Lifelong celibacy in spiritual terminology spelt practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation! Lifelong celibacy just does not mean practicing celibacy every year of life!

Why is celibacy necessitated for a period of 12 years in continuation? For serious seekers of spirituality... those desirous of reaching God in present life time... practicing absolute celibacy continuously for 12 years is a requirement of spiritual path! Lifelong celibacy is necessitated only for reaching stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)!

Once a human being after practicing absolute celibacy for a period of 12 years in continuation succeeds in full awakening of kundalini... one need not practice lifelong celibacy further! But for an enlightened one whose kundalini has fully awakened... indulgence in a sexual relationship carries no further meaning! One finally rises above mundane affairs of life!

Lifelong celibacy is necessitated in terms of practicing pure spirituality! Why? Pure celibacy does not mean abstention from sexual indulgence alone! The physical part hardly constitutes 10% of the total job! 90% celibacy is practiced mentally. Stopping the flow of negative thoughts to our brain is what absolute celibacy is all about!

For maintaining purity of thought all the time... practice of lifelong celibacy is a necessity... a compulsion of spiritual path! For stopping the flow of negative thoughts to our brain... we need establishing absolute control over five senses and mind. The moment this happens... one finally reached stage of Nirvikalpa samadhi... the stage of absolute nothingness!

Once we succeed in stopping flow of negative thoughts to our brain... the flow of positive thoughts also reduced gradually! Surrounded by a serene environment... thinking lofty thoughts... a practitioner of spirituality never further indulges in things ephemeral! Establishing a sexual relationship with a married partner or a girlfriend seems out of question!

On the path of pure spirituality... there is practically no space for indulgence in a sexual relationship! For reaching domain of God... one needs cutting across all shackles of ephemeral life! Something unthinkable in West still, people continue practicing celibacy that carries no meaning in spiritual world!

The Catholic clergy is absolutely unaware of true meaning of practicing celibacy! In West practice of celibacy is associated with abstention from sexual relationship alone! This is a wrong definition of celibacy! Celibacy needs to be practiced as was practiced by Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, Prophet Mohammed, Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa or Maharishi Ramana!

Yoga Celibacy

The word celibacy is directly related to field of spirituality! Celibacy truly can be termed as an act of yoga... a part of yoga meditation! It is only by practice of absolute celibacy human beings finally reached pinnacle of spiritual pursuit... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... the last in cosmic life cycle when human beings gained enlightenment and finally salvation!

Anything that relates to field of spirituality can be termed yoga! Why? The term yoga has been derived from the root word yog that in Hindi means... the process of synthesizing between the two! In Hindi two yog two equals four! The effort of our soul atman to merge with greater atman... God Almighty himself is what yoga meditation is all about!

It is only by practice of yoga celibacy human beings finally reached God! Yoga celibacy demands one maintaining a celibate relationship for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation! Practice of celibacy mantra is necessitated for reaching end goal of life... the last stage of cosmic life cycle when human beings gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)!

Celibacy mantra forms part of yoga celibacy! As per celibacy mantra we have only three relationships with woman... that of a mother, sister or daughter! There is never a fourth relationship! For practitioners of celibacy maintaining a sexual relationship with wife or girlfriend means limiting our sexual indulgence to a maximum of two per month (one is preferable)!

As per Hinduism beliefs... our body itself is clothing for our soul atman... the spirit within! For reaching God... for reaching stage of enlightenment and finally salvation... human beings have to finally rise above mundane affairs of life... transcend all barriers of physical manifest life... crossover shackles of Samsara (worldly life) forever!

For a true seeker of spirituality... maintaining a sexual relationship does not mean anything! We just cannot while away our energies through pure physical channels! Traveling path of spirituality... for practicing yoga celibacy in its truest sense we have to channelised sexual energy towards the ultimate goal of life... reaching God in ones lifetime!

Similarly as we have kundalini yoga, karma yoga... we also practice celibacy yoga!

Involuntary Celibacy

In the field of pure spirituality practice of involuntary celibacy carries no meaning! Celibacy always needs to be practiced voluntarily! We have to curtail the flow of negative thoughts to our brain at all costs! Simultaneously we also needed to limit our sexual indulgences to a maximum of two per month (one is desirable)!

It is only then one can practice absolute celibacy truthfully in its entirety! Something that did not originate voluntarily carries no meaning in spiritual world! Non-indulgence in sexual activity involuntarily does not mean much in field of spirituality! True practice of celibacy demands our establishing absolute control over five senses and mind!

To stop flow of negative thoughts to our brain in totality... we need practicing absolute celibacy as ordained in Hinduism! The meaning of celibacy understood world over is grossly wrong! Abstaining from a sexual relationship alone does not constitute practice of celibacy! There is much more to that in practice of absolute celibacy!

Practice of absolute celibacy, establishing absolute control over five senses and mind demands highest level of perfection that can ever be achieved by human beings! Only then one can hope to become a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or prophet Mohammed in practical life!

As ordained in Hinduism... the sacred Bhagavad Gita of Hinduism... every single human being has the potential to become a Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed! Becoming a man God is the ultimate goal of life of every living form including human beings!

As ordained by God Almighty... it is only in human form one finally reaches stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha)! The human form being the highest manifest stage in cosmic life cycle... true celibacy needs to be practiced by human beings alone!

Involuntary practice of celibacy does not mean anything as inherently one long for sexual relationship all the time! Overpowering all feelings of sensuality in totality is what celibacy is all about! On sighting a member of opposite sex if our sensuality remains unperturbed... we definitely are a serious seeker of spirituality... not otherwise!

Similar as one with empty stomach does not sing praises of God... one practicing involuntary celibacy is carrying out ones duties as was ordained by God Almighty! One bound to remain within confines of system does not mean... one is not affected by sensual thoughts! Curtailing sensuality in totality is what absolute celibacy is all about!

For an enlightened one... sexual indulgences... indulgence by body... the physical manifest body does not mean anything! For an enlightened one the body itself becomes an outer covering... a garment for our inner soul within... the true master and controller of human body! It is path of spirituality that spells our underlying relationship with our soul atman... the spirit within!

As detailed in Hinduism... our soul atman... the spirit within is the absolute master and controller of human form and not vice versa! Every soul atman manifests a total of 8.4 million bodies in its lifetime of which 1.1 million manifestations occur in human form. It is only by practice of absolute celibacy human beings finally reached God in their lifetime!

Reaching 8.4 millionth manifestation by liberated soul atman announces a direct entry into abode of God... kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism)! Having entered Vaikuntha... the kingdom of God... the liberated soul atman remains there until eternity (i.e. until dissolution of cosmos occurs... termed Pralaya in Hinduism). Kingdom of God is a place of no return!
