Kundalini
experience - activating the kundalini
The
art of activating the Kundalini... the path to Kundalini awakening... the method,
the process of awakening the Kundalini is termed Kundalini Yoga. But what does
Kundalini mean. What is the importance of Kundalini awakening in life of human
beings? Easily said... Kundalini awakening is the path to gaining enlightenment
(also termed self realization or god realization)... but what does it after all
entail!
How many people
world over understand the true meaning and purport of spiritual
words enlightenment and self realization... probably very few that
can be counted on fingers yet, when we query on Google for the search
term Kundalini Yoga or Kundalini awakening... the search results
show existence of above 1 million pages!
Not understanding
even the ABC of enlightenment... self realization or god realization...
yet people indulge in Kundalini as if not one but thousands of masters
exist who have awakened their Kundalini. Can we ever make a student
of class one jump to class ten... can a toddler ever conceive the
teachings of higher standard?
Can
we pull the stem of a tree and make it bigger so that it flowers early and we
get fruits to eat. In the spiritual world such things... rather miracles of such
sort do not exist. Recently I received some queries from people in the West...
presuming I have gained enlightenment... how can I awaken my Kundalini? What
is remedy for such ignorants of the spiritual path! Unless we realize the truth
of life, unless we understand the meaning and purport of Kundalini Shakti... we
shall never reach anywhere ever! Furthermore the awakening of Kundalini energy
and practice of absolute celibacy are interlocked... deeply interconnected...
but how many understand! Without
practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years in continuation...
the awakening of the Kundalini is just not possible! In the present materialistic
world... full of physical pleasures and materialistic comforts... to practice
absolute celibacy for a minimum period of 12 years is very difficult yet, not
impossible!
In
present times if Acharya Rajneesh (nee Osho) failed with his experiment of mixing
sex with yoga... one can clearly infer dilemma of commoners... the masses! On
the sight of a maiden woman taking bath in forlorn circumstances in deep dense
jungles (forests) if Sage Vishwamitra fell from grace... what we can expect from
mortals of present world surrounded with enticements!
Controlling
sensuality... nipping it right in its base is next to impossible! Only a very
serious seeker of spirituality... the likes of Swami Vivekananda can succeed in
such adventures of life. The seriousness of the matter can be gauged from the
fact that out of above 7 billion people existing world over... only two persons
in the last about 150 years gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana). They
were Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana. Two persons amongst 7 billion
people and that too in about 150 years! What we are discussing is highly improbable!
It is a fact of life that God Almighty ordained an earthly journey of 12.4 million
earthly years in 1.1 million manifestations for human beings to reach the stage
of enlightenment and salvation (moksha).
The
moment awakening of the Kundalini occurs fully... the Sahasrara Chakra (thousand
petalled Lotus) existing in our brain behind the forehead opens fully. The complete
system of the Cosmos now becomes available to one. After gaining enlightenment
(kaivalya jnana) and salvation (moksha) one finally reaches the stage of an enlightened
one... becomes a Buddha!
Before
we indulge in awakening of the Kundalini we have to establish absolute control
over five senses and the mind. Until absolute control over five senses and mind
is established... the awakening of the Kundalini is just not possible. Neither
shall practice of 12 years of absolute celibacy in continuation would be of much
help! Establishing
control over five senses and the mind, practicing absolute celibacy for a minimum
period of 12 years in continuation... all are interlinked! By pursuing one and
neglecting the other we never reach anywhere! The awakening of the Kundalini announces
one having reached the stage of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet
Mohammed!
The
activation of the Kundalini is the summum bonum of the spiritual path. The full
awakening of the Kundalini announces one having reached the end of spiritual pursuit...
the goal of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation when the liberated
soul atman after salvation (moksha) enters the abode of God... the kingdom of
God (aka Vaikuntha in Hinduism).
Most
human beings as of today do not want to understand the truth behind most sacred
scriptures of the world. Simply following routines of the world... the rituals...
one cannot awaken the Kundalini... come whatever may! By the grace of God... by
the grace of a spiritual master Kundalini can never be awakened under any circumstances. If
Swami Vivekananda had desired self realization in his lifetime... the awakening
of the Kundalini was his job and not that of his Guru... his spiritual master
Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa! The path to God was clear to Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa.
Whenever Swami Vivekananda would have stuck on the path... he would have just
shown the right way... nothing more than that!
Spiritual
masters... spiritual preceptors can never awaken the Kundalini of one simply through
the path of Shaktipat! It was never to be... in the history of mankind such instances
do exist but that was possible sometimes to a very limited extent during the golden
period... the Satyuga! To expect such happenings in Kali Yuga (the present Dark
Age) is wishful thinking.
Having
understood the meaning and purport of Kundalini... the ultimate goal of life of
human beings is reaching the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and not awakening
of the Kundalini. In my search for God since 13 years of age, I do remember the
fearful times when my Kundalini shakti threw me off the bed... scared me to the
extent that I shifted my bed near my mother's. Yet...
at that time I was not much aware about what Kundalini meant. 25 years of yoga
meditation... I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age. It was 2.15 a.m.
in the morning when God Almighty graced me with a full darshan (vision) of the
whole Cosmos. It was an experience that can never be expressed in words. I picked
up a pen and started writing.
God
Almighty wanted to give me a dictation. I continued writing for more than two
hours and thereafter when I read the statement I realized my Kundalini had awakened
fully absolutely unknown to me... it was definitely a miracle of all sorts! I
never had been after awakening of the Kundalini yet, my Kundalini awakened fully
absolutely unknown to me!
In
my search for God I had become so serious... so forthcoming that I never had the
time... the opportunity to think of Kundalini awakening! I was after the process
of Neti (not this, not this) as preached and advocated by Maharishi Ramana. Throughout
my life I continued my search of God through the path of Neti. Lying in the Shavasana
pose of yoga Neti finally led me to God! Neti
is best practiced in the Shavasana pose of yoga. When one is free of all responsibilities
for the day... when it is time to go to bed... lying in the Shavasana pose of
yoga... I just concentrated on the path of Neti (not this, not this)... vehemently
searching for God all the time. I somehow had to find God in this very life...
time was short... the path unknown!
Summarizing
all... after all what is Kundalini Yoga... how can one awaken ones Kundalini to
reach the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha).
What is that energy... the Shakti we term Kundalini? What vital role Kundalini
Shakti plays in the life of human beings... the masses at large! Kundalini
energy... Kundalini Shakti is that cosmic power... coiled serpentine energy lying
in base of spine that always remains dormant unless activated... awakened! The
awakening of Kundalini Shakti can never be done physically. The total process
is mental. As the Kundalini awakens gradually... human beings raise higher on
the spiritual platform... finally gaining enlightenment! In
the normal course of life human beings use their brain 1%. Albert Einstein the
famous physicist used his brain 4%... after full awakening of Kundalini enlightened
ones like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ, prophet Mohammed, sri Ramakrishna
Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana used their brain hundred percent... they gained
immortality for all practical purposes!
The
moment the coiled serpentine Kundalini Shakti after gradual release reaches the
top of the brain behind the forehead... it announces the end of spiritual journey!
Our soul atman... the spirit within having emancipated from the cycle of birth
and death forever finally liberates to enter the kingdom of God... the abode of
God (Vaikuntha in Hinduism).
Devoid
of all dross impurities within... our soul atman, the spirit within finally regains
its original pure prime pristine primordial form! The journey in the human form
is the last manifest stage in the cosmic life cycle of the soul atman... the spirit
within! It is only in the human form our soul atman... the spirit within succeeds
in gaining release from the cycle of birth and death. In
the human form itself we have 1.1 million manifestations for awakening our Kundalini
fully. When the coiled serpentine energy gradually awakens... the experiences
of the spiritual path are totally fighting. A many hooded Cobra stares you dead
in the eye head-on! You do not understand what is happening. Some having frightened
leave the path midways... others in search of God continue as if nothing much
had happened.
For
over a month I kept my bed decides the bed of my mother. The experiences of Kundalini
awakening were so frightening that to express all in words is difficult. But the
moment I decided to take the many hooded Cobra head-on... it was all over for
me. This coiled serpentine force... the many hooded Cobra finally subsided and
withdrew from the scene.
The
symptoms of Kundalini awakening are absolutely clear. Devoid of any dross impurities
within... the human form reaches the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... the stage
of nothingness when one can have a dialogue with God Almighty on one-to-one basis
and that too permanently! Kundalini awakening is really tiring but simultaneously
very refreshing! The
subdued dance of the many hooded Cobra is something unbelievable. My Kundalini
having awakened fully... I could dance standing over the head of the many hooded
Cobra similar as the dance of Lord Krishna on the head of dreaded serpent Kalia
in the initial stages of his life. That episode in the life of Lord Krishna clearly
depicts that his Kundalini awakened when very young.
In
the field of spirituality things are straightforward. Veiled by the limited power
of the senses and the mind when we fail to perceive absolute truths in life...
problems start! The awakening of the Kundalini is like taking an elevator straight
up to the top floor of Empire State building. Proceeding via the normal path is
taking the route of the staircase... one step at a time!
Imagine
a building having 1.1 million steps and one step was equivalent to one manifest
phase of life... the present earthly sojourn of 70 to 80 years in the life of
human beings! What if by the grace of God one activated the Kundalini. Instead
of taking that staircase route... we take the elevator straight up from the ground
floor to the top... the 84th or the 102 floor! There
are absolutely no shortcuts on the path of Kundalini awakening as envisaged by
many human beings. The act of Kundalini awakening abhors indulgence in sex. It
is only by practice of absolute celibacy our Kundalini Shakti can be awakened...
never otherwise! If we desire success in life... by transmitting our sexual energies
to more creative channels is the only way out.
