Some reached the level of Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed... man gods who gained enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha) in their lifetime! Lord Krishna was born an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form)... why? It was for the simple reason that Lord Krishna wanted to cleanse the society of its ills... reestablish Dharma (righteousness) against all odds! For reaching the level of a man God... for practicing Dharma of Chanakya (the most able administrator in the history of mankind) Lord Krishna was at times required to practice forgiveness of the highest order that can virtually ever be imagined by normal human beings... ordinary mortals! It is much more than drinking a cup of poison! It is only by forgiving people Lord Krishna practiced... rather inculcated within him a cosmic strength that was not visible to the mortal eye! In doing so... Lord Krisna had to fight injustice within him at every stage of life! This resulted in his body taking the color of blue for the sins of the society... the world en masse had to be borne by him until the opportune moment turned up! As stated in Bhagavad-Gita... no person gets punished in life until one has committed hundred sins! Until the 99th sin someone has to bear the onslaught of bad deeds! It was Lord Krishna who took unto himself the burden of sins committed by the community en masse. The blue color of Lord Krishna depicts the depth of his character!
Lord Krishna was an avatar of Dwaper Yuga... in present times people await coming of Bhagavan Kalki... a Messiah of present era... the Kaliyuga... Dark Age... the present metal age! The blue color is only symbolic... does not mean Bhagavan Kalki would manifest a body of blue color. The blue color is symbolic of internal strength... the calmness, serenity that lay underneath! The blue color of ocean... the blue color of sky depicts the vastness... the inherent strength of oceans and the skies! None knows what lay beneath the shallow waters of oceans and seas! In the vast expanse of cosmos... blue sky is only a reflection of vastness of the cosmos! When the whole cosmos submerges within a human being... we call one an avatar (God manifest in human form)!
Unless the problem was nipped in bud... society would not have a permanent solution! The Pandavas had already suffered for 12 years... they were ordered another 12 years of exile! It was then Krishna said... enough is enough! No more exile for Pandavas. The battle of Dharma (righteousness) had to be fought in face of Adharma (lawlessness)... there was no other remedy! And started the famous battle of Mahabharata between Pandavas and Kauravas! The battle of Mahabharata signifies that forgiveness and compassion can be practiced but everything in life has a timeframe. Beyond that time frame it is only a hard pitched battle that can provide the remedy! Those adamant for fighting need to learn a lesson in the battle of Dharma against Adharma!
Lord Krisna admonished King Arjuna saying... it was not a battle being fought between members of two clans... it was a fight between Dharma (righteousness) and Adharma (lawlessness)! King Arjuna represented his countrymen. For the sake of country... for the sake of countrymen he had to fight! It was not a personal battle with Duryodhana... his cousin... the Kauravas! At the end of sermon of Bhagavad-Gita King Arjuna understood the sayings of Lord Krishna. He agreed to fight the enemy head-on! Lord Krisna became his charioteer... his spiritual guide in the battle against adharma (lawlessness).
The battle of Mahabharata was a battle between godly and satanic forces... it was a fight between God and Satan! Eventually God had to win under all circumstances... so is destined by God Almighty! In every fight between Dharma (righteousness) and Adharma (lawlessness), Dharma (righteousness) always had to win... there is no other alternative destined by God Almighty! Blue color also represents one having won control over death! Lord Krishna... a pure soul was far above man gods like Mahavira, Gautama Buddha, Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed who gained enlightenment in their lifetime! Apart from reaching the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) Lord Krishna also administered highest level of justice that can ever be delivered in history of mankind!
To accomplish something big... to don the mettle of an avatar (God manifest in human form) one needs to practice highest level of forgiveness! In absence of this potential power... none can reach the level of an avatar! In our effort to practice absolute forgiveness... we have to bear with so many things unethical that our body becomes blue... though symbolically! Practicing highest level of forgiveness, patience, persistence and perseverance... an ordinary mortal became Lord Krishna... an avatar of his era (God manifest in human form). Similar traits of character would be displayed by Bhagavan Kalki... an avatar of modern era... the annihilator of Kali Yuga... the Dark Age... the metal age!
Lord Shiva had the power to retain poison in his neck... he was an embodiment of Brahman... God Almighty himself! Lord Krishna born an ordinary mortal practiced patience, persistence and perseverance at its level best! In his quest to render service to mankind, Lord Krishna always upheld Dharma (righteousness) no matter what! Any form of relationship did not matter to Krishna! Lord Krisna... an avatar of his era was above all relationships of any kind! To an avatar... a Messiah... both friend and foe appear the same! A Messiah... an avatar practically represents God Almighty on mother Earth! To uphold Dharma (righteousness) against the evil forces of Adharma (lawlessness) the coming of an avatar of an era gets mandated! It is almost 3600 years before came Lord Krishna. Since then life has come full circle.
