In a nutshell, the knower of Bhagavad-Gita becomes the knower of all... gains omniscience for all practical purposes! For knowing our true inner self we need assimilating the pearls of wisdom contained in 700 shlokas verses of sacred Bhagavad Gita. Finding your inner self... the query itself indicates that our true inner self is beyond the body... the human form! As per sacred Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism it is our inner self... the conscience within... the spirit within that manifests the human form to work out its karma... remove the dross impurities within! Ever since every soul atman... our true inner self started its cosmic journey... it indulges in karma to gain more purity manifestation after manifestation... body after body! Absolute purity by our inner self... the spirit within is gained the moment dross impurities within the soul atman removed forever! The removal of dross impurities is made possible by God Almighty through the complex process of karma! In absence of doctrine of karma every soul atman... our true inner self would always remain inert... Sandwiched... surrounded by impurities! Similar as one KG of pure gold sandwiched in hundred KG lump of gold ore remains inert of its own and needs external mining machinery and processes for its extraction... our inner self... the pure spirit... our soul atman within also requires passing through a journey of 8.4 million manifestations before it reaches the stage of absolute purity!
It is in our interest as a human being to assist our soul atman... the true inner self for expeditious completion of the cosmic journey! Until a single trace of karma remains... our true inner self... the spirit within keeps manifesting form after another... until it reaches the last leg of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation! The cosmic journey of life truly belongs to our soul atman... the spirit within... the human form simply being a sojourn in the entire life span of a soul atman... the spirit within! For finding our inner self... for removing dross impurities within our soul atman we need assimilating the wisdom contained in Bhagavad-Gita!
Ever since our true inner self... our soul atman... the spirit within started on its cosmic journey after the big bang explosion... it keeps hurtling down its cosmic sojourn until life supporting planets like mother Earth develop! No sooner planets like mother Earth developed... every soul atman manifested a living form to work out its karma... remove the dross impurities within! In its entire life span of 8.4 million manifestations... our true inner self manifests a maximum of 8.4 million bodies! Starting its first journey as an amoeba (single cell formation)... further evolving into multi-cell formation, then insect life, plant life, animal life and finally the form of human beings! Before manifesting the human form our true inner self has already manifested 7.3 million bodies in insect, plant and animal life!
The ultimate goal of life in the cosmic system... the entire world is removing dross impurities within our true inner self so that our true inner self reaches its cosmic glory... regains its lost original pure prime pristine primordial form! From the first manifestation to the last... the 8.4 millionth manifestation the effort of our inner self remains reaching end of cosmic life at the earliest! Gaining enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha) is what human beings have been born for! In the human form itself we have a maximum of 1.1 million manifestations to reach the end of cosmic life... the 8.4 millionth manifestation... the prime reason why human beings remain clutched to ephemeral bondages... the earthly possessions!
JRD Tata... the Man of steel... throughout his life acted as a true trustee of God... never indulging self in the fruits of karma performed! JRD Tata... the scion of Tata group was a true Karma Yogi par excellence. In his lifetime he never built a house of his own lest he attach self to the tidbits of life! Even though JRD Tata never read Bhagavad-Gita in his lifetime but he practiced the prime teachings of Bhagavad-Gita all the time! Any human being desirous of reaching stage of enlightenment... finding our true inner self has to live life Nishakama karma way... offering fruits of karma performed to God Almighty all the time! Living life Nishakama karma way is very difficult yet, for a true seeker of spirituality nothing is impossible! If JRD Tata can do it... so can others! What we need is the indomitable willpower exhibited by Winston Churchill and swami Vivekananda.
Madame Curie the famous physicist disfigured herself working day and night with pitchblende... the radioactive ore that contained new substance radium! She died of excessive radium exposure in highly uncomfortable state yet, all her life she was dedicated to searching for radium come whatever may! She succeeded in her efforts in her lifetime! Madame Curie was a Karma Yogi par excellence! True happiness in life is gained serving others! When we search for our true inner self... we are in fact searching for bliss... the state of permanent happiness experienced when one reaches the stage of Nirvikalpa Samadhi... the stage of nothingness! In absence of invocation of any thought to brain... the bliss that is experienced, can never be expressed in words!
Prompted by the voice of my inner self... I finally realized God in 1993 at 37 years of age! At whatever karmic stage I may have been (amongst 1.1 million manifestations in the human form)... I still managed to reach my true inner self... my soul atman the spirit within! Having become a pure soul... having removed all dross impurities from my soul atman, my true inner self, I have nowhere else to go further! The moment my
job on mother Earth is over... I shall leave the mortal frame forever
and after gaining salvation (moksha) enter the abode of God... the
kingdom of God (termed Vaikuntha in Hinduism). The kingdom of God
is a point of no return... having entered once the purified soul
atman remains there until eternity... until the dissolution of the
cosmos occurs (termed Pralaya in Hinduism).
