Brahman hinduism - Saguna Nirguna Hindu god brahman

Brahman the hindu god - brahman hindu

Brahman is that entity in Hinduism the world knows as God Almighty! In Hinduism the sacred scriptures also term it as Parmatman, Karta, Bhagwan, Prabhu or Sanatana Purusha! Brahman of Hinduism is not to be confused with Brahmin... a caste in Hinduism the members of which indulged in all things religious!

For performance of any puja in Hinduism... the Hindu priest... a Brahmin is requisitioned! The services of a Brahmin are necessitated for conducting any type of religious ritual based on scriptures! Under no circumstances a Brahmin is to be confused with Brahman... the Almighty God... the creator of all things cosmic!

In Hindu philosophy... in Hindu mythology, Brahman is considered the supreme commander... the creator of cosmic system... the entire cosmos! Brahman in Hinduism is one and only one. The highest deity... the highest power in Hinduism that exists according to Hindu religion... the various Hinduism Scriptures is that of Brahman... the creator of the cosmos!

As per Hinduism Brahman exists from times immemorial! In simpler words, Brahman of Hinduism has no beginning or an end! It is only when God almighty... termed Brahman in Hinduism explodes self with a big bang... cosmos gets created! As per sacred Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism... existence of God almighty... the existence of Brahman is beyond dispute!

If we exist... if the cosmic system exists... if life exists in the cosmic system, God Almighty, Brahman also exists! As per Bhagavad-Gita of Hinduism after the dissolution of old cosmos (termed Pralaya in Hinduism)... the size of entire cosmos reduces to size of half a thumb! And what is this half a thumb?

This half a thumb as per sacred Bhagavad-Gita is God Almighty... Brahman in its original pristine primordial form... the cluster of all purified souls atmans in the cosmos! This enormous power... the volume of half a thumb unable to retain itself for long in its prime pure state again explodes with a big bang giving rise to a new cosmos... a new journey of life!

The explosion of Brahman gives rise to all purified souls atmans scattering all over cosmos at unimaginable speeds! In the melee... the hurtling souls' atmans gather impurities similar as a rolling ball gathers moss! To cleanse themselves of the dross impurities within starts the cosmic life cycle of every soul atman... an earthly travel of 96.4 million years!

For every soul atman to regain its original pure prime pristine primordial form... it requires a total of... rather maximum of 8.4 million manifestations out of which 7.3 million manifestations occur in insect, plant and animal form! In the remaining 1.1 million manifestations human beings are expected to reach the stage of enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and finally salvation (moksha).

Does it mean every human being has a total of 1.1 million manifestations (an earthly life cycle of 12.4 million years) at its disposal to reach the stage of enlightenment and finally salvation! Yes, starting from first manifestation as a human being we have a total of 1.1 million manifestations to reach the stage of enlightenment and salvation.

Life in cosmic system is full of consciousness that is live and brimming with energy! Every single soul atman of itself is inert similar as one KG of pure gold sandwiched in hundred KG lump of gold ore! For extracting one KG of pure gold we require external mining machinery and processes... similarly every soul atman also requires manifesting karma through chain of bodies!

If an independent soul atman is a grain of sand... the whole mound Brahman... God Almighty! If an individual piece of puzzle is a single soul atman... the completed puzzle Brahman... God Almighty! Every single soul atman is God Almighty in minuscule form that exists within us in our heart as supreme consciousness... prime consciousness!

While praying to God in Hinduism... while praying to Brahman in Hinduism... human beings either pray to Nirguna Brahman (without a form) or Saguna form of Brahman (having a form). For a commoner... the masses it is extremely difficult to think of formless God hence praying to Saguna form of Brahman is more prevalent in the society!

As per sacred scriptures of Hinduism... the sacred Bhagavad-Gita; God Almighty exists only in Nirguna form! The whole cosmic system is made up of basic building block of the cosmos... clusters of atoms and molecules! Everything that appears solid is in fact gaseous formation including human beings.

In the circumstances expecting the Saguna form of God Almighty is a misnomer... a belief of the ignorant! God Almighty... Brahman can never have a form... it is always formless... it is Nirguna in shape and form! Those traveling the path of jnana yoga pray to Nirguna form of Brahman! Those praying to Saguna form of Brahman never reach God in their lifetime.

For realizing God... for gaining enlightenment in one's lifetime... we have to follow the Nirguna form of Brahman! It is only then wisdom contained in Bhagavad-Gita precipitates before one. The contents of Bhagavad-Gita are beyond catch of literary knowledge... one needs reading in between the lines to understand the gist of Bhagavad-Gita!

For fathoming the depth of wisdom contained in Bhagavad-Gita and various Upanishads... the serious seeker of spirituality always concentrates on path of jnana yoga! Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa and Maharishi Ramana... both started their spiritual journey via the path of bhakti yoga... finally they switched to path of jnana yoga!

For contemplating on Brahman of Hinduism... for contemplating on God Almighty... we need to assimilate the teachings contained in Bhagavad-Gita. Without understanding Bhagavad-Gita... the concept of Brahman, God Almighty always eludes us! If we truly desire understanding Brahman... we have to follow the teachings of Bhagavad-Gita ceremoniously!

Brahman of Hinduism must also not be confused with Brahma of Hinduism... Hindu Lord Brahma! Lord Brahma is simply an attribute of God Almighty... the creative attribute of Brahman! Lord Vishnu is the maintainer and Lord Shiva (aka Mahesh) the destroyer... the ultimate maintainer... cleanser of the cosmic system!

All the three... Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva form part of Hindu Trinity of gods! Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva are simply the three attributes of Brahman... Parmatman... the Sanatana Purusha... the creator of all things cosmic! There has never existed Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu or Lord Mahesh but existence of Brahman is a fact of life!

We exist as human beings because Brahman exists! It is only when Brahman exploded self with a big bang... cosmos got created! Truthfully Brahman is the only truth of life that exists in cosmic system! As per doctrine of Maya propagated by Adi Shankaracharya... existence of complete cosmos is merely a veil of illusion... something that exists only in thoughts of Brahman.

Brahman being the only truth of life... it is beyond capacity of human beings to negate presence of Brahman... God Almighty! The existence of Brahman is as much a fact of life as existence of human beings on mother Earth! Our existence primarily proves existence of a soul atman. The existence of a soul atman proves the existence of Brahman... God Almighty in all its glory!

If we truly desire reaching Brahman in our lifetime... we have to gain enlightenment (kaivalya jnana) and then salvation (moksha). The moment our soul atman gains absolute purity... regains its original pure prime pristine primordial form... it enters the abode of God... the kingdom of God (termed Baikuntha in Hinduism). Baikuntha is the abode of Brahman... God Almighty!

Meditation Yoga in hinduism
Meditation: Anyone with a slight Spiritual inclination would say with confidence that one meditates daily. Ask them the right procedure for Meditation ... most would stare blank! One may say, Meditation means concentrating on the core of a lighted bulb in a darkened room. Others may put forward, "trying to concentrate on nothingness ... a state when no thought remains in the body". Fewer still would say," concentrating on your atman the soul within". How! Is what eludes them all. You can meditate perfectly well if you knew the meaning of word " Meditation".

Yoga breathing The Spiritual path
Yoga: Meditation is the means of establishing a link between an atman soul with Brahman (the Creator). In Hindu Scriptures Yoga means trying to establish a synthesis between two things. Human beings who proceed on the Spiritual path find Yoga as the only path towards Realization. Meditation is only a part of Yoga. Yoga involves full cleansing of the body so that Atman can be liberated from the body for ever.

Yoga and Meditation
Are Yoga and Meditation two different words with different meanings? No, the truth is not so... we need to understand that it is the path of yoga which shall lead us to gaining Enlightenment within this life. And what does yoga itself mean? The word yoga has been derived from the Hindi root yog and which in Hindi means synthesizing two things. In Hindi two plus two equal four... and the effort of our soul the atman within to merge with the super soul (the Parmatman, the Almighty God) is known as yoga.

Correct method of Meditation
Meditation simply does not mean sitting in a quite darkened room and focusing our energies on the centre of a small lit bulb... never knowing where to go further! Yoga meditation is lying down in Shavasana pose of yoga and practicing Neti as practiced by Maharishi Ramana. If we find that the dross within is diminishing... we are on the right path of yoga meditation.

Breathing process
The question is not of breathing but who breathes! While lying in the Shavasana pose of yoga... we need to concentrate on the process as a whole! We need to think... who is it that is breathing? From where does the breath enter and where it goes. Cycling the whole breathing process... automating the whole breathing process rhythmically is the essence of yoga.
